But we took Our time and got out to snorkel many times and just tied to boat to us and snorkeled about..we paddled along the wall Shoreline on way out and straight through middle of bay on way back.. we Did a double w my husband in back. It was a beautiful day and fun but I would sandwich sitting around relaxing days on either side :)

You can’t take your own, or rented kayaks to Kealakekua Bay. The only way to snorkel is to pay for a boat excursion, or a kayak guide through a licensed company. You can hike a couple of miles to the Captain Cook monument from the road with your snorkel gear. We paid for a kayak guide and were the only ones snorkeling for about an hour until an excursion boat arrived.
