Republican North Carolina Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson is under pressure from members of his own party to drop out of the state’s gubernatorial race, people familiar with the matter told WRAL on Thursday. A spokesman for Robinson shot down the questions about the possibility of him dropping out.

North Carolina Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson, the state’s Republican candidate for governor, said he would stay in the race and denied new accusations that he posted racist, antigay and inflammatory comments on a pornography-website message board more than a decade ago.
